Sue Illgner - Photographer
Every month we want to shine a well-deserved spotlight on one of our incredible partners here at Amandla Ubuntu. This month, it’s the turn of our photographer extraordinaire, Sue.
Sue Illgner is a proud South African, mom and photographer, who has a passion for all things wildlife. Her up close and personal photos of animals, from predators on the prowl to the unbreakable bond between mother and cub, are truly beautiful.
And, luckily for us, Sue is also a dab-hand at capturing the love, dedication and talent that’s poured into many of Amandla Ubuntu’s pieces. This makes her a vital part of the company and our mission to make a tangible difference to the lives of women experiencing gender based violence in South Africa.
Not only does Sue capture our products in their best light, quite literally, she also searches far and wide to find the talent of tomorrow amongst the crafters of South Africa. She sources only the finest, quality, hand-crafted pieces, allowing us to bring this talent to the Western world and, in turn, support the Saartjie Baartman Centre - an organisation which supports survivors of gender based violence.
