Growing up I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Most of the time I was indoors painting or sketching those were my only friends who understood how I felt in anytime & my mum & dad would buy me water paints, crayons & sketchbooks. When I was in primary teachers loved bringing me nice things for me to help draw/paint their teaching aids & paint cartoon characters for their kids & sports teams to draw/paint their logos & that made me money but also made me feel good about myself instead of being sick all the time my parents going in & out of doctors not knowing what is really wrong with me some doctors said it's not epilepsy.

Tired Soul is the name of our featured piece, chosen as it symbolises the exhaustion so many women’s rights advocates feel as the fight against gender-based violence continues. But we will always get back up again and carry on, for every single woman who has ever felt afraid.
Simone, like everyone who partners with us, is a women’s rights advocate. So, we use an image of one of her unique pieces on our homepage to welcome everyone to Amandla Ubuntu, and the little corner of the world that we’re determined to change.
